Confidential tasks

Hello,
Is it possible to keep some tasks confidential in a project.
I tried to use the Publish field (Yes/No) at the task level in Project Pro.
But the tasks are still published while this field is set to No. Only the
resource assignments are not published in the timesheets.
Any idea ?

Hi Robert,

the Yes/No functionality is only for the timesheet. The only way that you
may want to hide confidential tasks is to create a custom field called
confidential and then amend your views to filter these tasks out. That may
does the trick

That is true. If people have access to the project file, there is not much
you can do to prevent them from reading ANYTHING in the file. Project does
not protect any of the file data except at the file access level.

The only option is to encrypt the data. Here is an example and some code to
do very simple encryption:

HI Robert,

I was actually refering to filters within the PWA views. If a user does not
have access to the server settings, he/she will not be able to remove the
filter. If a user however has access to the Project via Project Pro, you will
not be able to hide any data. A user that has access via Project Pro
essentially can see anything
