config.xml and setup.xml

Dave

Are there any websites with detailed information on using the config.xml and
setup.xml files for installation of Office 2007 via GPO? I've been trying to
get Office 2007 to install via a computer startup script. It does install,
but only the "New Microsoft Office Document" and "Open Microsoft Office
Document" icons are in the start menu.

When a regular user account clicks on one of these icons, Office then
proceeds with a "Configuration Process". This takes several minutes to
complete and then Office seems to be fully functional. It would appear that
only the minimum amount of office gets installed, despite me setting the
OptionStates in the config.xml file. I'm sure that I'm not setting something
correctly, but I not sure what. I'd like to get the full product to install
during the startup script so that when deployed, I can just tell my users,
reboot your computer, get a cup of coffee and when you get back, Office 2007
will be fully installed.

Thanks.

Hi Dave,

GPO deployment isn't the first choice for deploying in Office 2007, but the process is documented in the Office 2007 Resource Kit at
http://microsoft.com/office/ork (there are both online and downloadable 'book' (.doc/.pdf) versions available).
