Configuration changes message

Sebastian Cordoba

Hi. Everyone.

This is the problem: I constantly get Messages from Project in my screen
(usually while I'm using Outlook) and the messages show a configuration
process ("Please wait wile Windows configures Microsoft Office Project
Professional 2007"). When the process finishes, it asks me to restart my
machine. I do so, but the same mesagges keep appearing over and over again.

What do I have to do to stop the messages?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Sebastian,

It's likely that you don't have administrative rights on your computer, and
so the installation cannot complete. I'd recommend contacting your network
administrator to confirm the situation.

I have the same error message occuring, and I have admin rights on my
machine. I did an uninstall/re-install but it keeps happening. I've just been
hitting "cancel" with seemingly no ill effects, but it is very annoying.
We're running Office 2003 on Windows XP. Hadn't made the connection between
Outlook at Project but I always have Outlook open as well when this is
happening (since it's at work).

Any help is appreciated.

I too have this same problem. Have admin rights, but ever since installation
of Project 2007, the config message appears when opening Outlook, asking for
a reboot. Any help?

I had this same problem but just discovered how to fix it. By running the
automatic "Office Update," the system installed the Office 2003 SP3 update
and a Office 2007 update. Prior to that, the computer had Office 2003 SP1
with Project 2007 installed. Doing all the required Office updates fixed the
problem!
