Configuration limitation hours recorded in timesheet by resource

Hi,

[Issue]
I can record any number of hours in Timesheet.
The financial controler can't accept this point, the number hours depends of
the type of resource (project manager, team member, section).

[Context:]
I define a calendar with 4 hours for one resource by day as capacity.
I associate the calendar define to my resource by edit the properties in
resource center.
I create a project with standard calendar.
I add a new task with a duration of 5 days monday to friday, 20 hours of
work for the resource with the ne calendar.
Save and publish the project.

As the resource, I create a new timesheet and try to put 8 hours in real
work.
It's working.

[Conclusion]
I understand it's possible to have overallocation one day.
I understand the calendar is available for planify hours not to limit record
hours.
And according to the server settings, I can just limit the total hours for
all resources
of this enterprise not more precisaly.

I think it's not possible to do what I want without a custom development.
Am I right?

But maybe you have encountered this same issue and find a workaround.

I appreciate your feedback.

Alex:

Your observations are correct. You could do some custom development to
further limit user input, or you could purchase add-on timesheet software.
Sometimes people *do* work more than they are scheduled and the system is
designed to accommodate that.
