Configuration of Outlook (Express?)

Have Office 2003 and use Hotmail for my regular E-mail.
Have not chosen Outlook for main E-mail and don´t
remember if I did so with Hotmail.

Would like to be able to use Outlook as well as Hotmail
since many webbsites when clicking on their E-mail
answering addresses my Outlook pops up. Since I haven´t
managed to configure it I must copy the E-mail addrss to
Hotmail etc.

Also, should I use Microsoft Exchange server or?
Difference between Outlook and Express?
How to configure?

Have broadband connection via phone line.
