Configuration Problem with Office

Immediatley after installing a Quickbooks update, I began to have problems
with Office 2000 Professional. Quickbooks says that their updates can in no
way effect an Office program. Coincidence? Uponstarting WORD, "Please wait
while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 Professional" appears. The
program starts, and the data is there, but the file names have a blank icon
instead of the WORD icon. I cannot link to a WORD document from email or
successfully save a new document. Same problem with EXCEL. I tried
uninstalling and re-installing from my Office CD, but get the same result.

HELP!

Do you not have a system restore point in whatever version of win you are
using?
If you uninstalled Office, you would have needed to run MS Update after
reinstalling Office

Thank you for the post. When I went to system restore, it also restored
Quickbooks to the time before we did the update, which meant all invoices we
had done in-between were not recorded correctly, so I had to go back to the
more current date.

I will try the MS update. Thanks.

Thanks, DL. Even though I thought I had all of the windows updates because of
the automatic updates, I went to ALL PPROGRAMS, then WINDOWS UPDATE, and an
hour later everything was working! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
