configuration problems

I have just installed Office Home and Student on a computer running Vista
Home Basic.

I have activated the program just fine with the product key.

My problem is that now ever single time I start up one of the programs it
pops up the windows installer and then proceeds to do the configuration
process.

What in the world is going on and why is it doing this? And most
importantly, how do I fix it?

I have installed it on my husbands computer, running Vista Home Premium and
it doesn't do any of that.

What that means is that the installation files were not left on the computer
and they have to be installed everytime you open the Office programs. If you
insert the cd to run the installation program, click on Add/Remove components
and then click on the little hard drive next to Office and click Run All from
My Computer. That will install all of the files so that you don't have to go
through that anymore.
