Configuration Question

What is the best configuration for outlook when the user is off site, but the
user also has a smart phone that is syncing contact's, calendar, email via ms
activesync (push).

My goal would be to not duplicate things but have everything on the server
being served to the smart phone and the users PC offiste (remote office with
no exchange server)

The user was setup with a pop account but that doesn't allow calendar or
contacts to sync, so I thought IMAP but not sure that will do what I want
either..

Thanks for the help

Calendar & Contacts are not supported on imap either. He'll need to sync
them directly between outlook and the phone.

Would RPC over HTTPS be the best option ?

Do you have Exchange server? That is required for RPC over HTTP - and yes,
if you have it, it should be used.

It woulda saved time if you have said exchange was available, rather than
"remote office with no exchange" :)

Ok. Users offsite should use RPC over HTTP (Outlook Anywhere in
OL2007/Ex2007) , not POP3 or IMAP - this will give them the full features of
Exchange. I recommend it for all the users at the offsite office, not just
the one who needs to sync with a pda-device.
