Configure delivery to Personal Folders

Hi all.
When I start Outlook 2003 for the first time I set up an IMAP account to pick up the mail from my ISP (mail.cablespeed.com)
What I end up with is a group of folders under Personal Folders which includes a Deleted Items, Junk E-mail, and an Inbox
I also end up with a group of folders called mail.cablespeed.com (my ISP's mail server address) that includes only one folder called inbox

When I hit send/receive mail comes to the mail.cablespeed.com/inbox which I would expect but...I had to re-configure Outlook to display this folder to be the default view folder upon starting Outlook (no big deal), It doesn’t show new email messages in the Outlook Today screen (which I could probably live without), and (and this is the deal breaker) I can't delete messages. Or rather I can delete them and then they appear grey with a strikethrough but remain in the folder. Worse than that, after deleting a message, instead of highlighting the following message I have to click on the next message down to delete it. It takes forever to delete more than a few messages. And finally, in order to get them out of the inbox I have to go to Edit / purge deleted messages.

How can I get my IMAP mail from my ISP to be delivered into my Personal Folders group where I have access to a Deleted Items folder and a Junk email folder? Or how can I get these folders to be included in my mail.cablespeed.com folder group? I don't recall having this problem with Outlook XP which I must have set up 4 or 5 times in various situations

I am stumped, please hel

Thank
