Configure editable fields in Time sheet view

I would like to add a number of editable fields in the time sheet view
which team members can use to indicate their task progress (besides the
actual work and remaining work fields). How can I accomplish this?

From Tools, select Customize > Published Fields. This is the starting point
for adding additional fields to the published fields list. After adding the
fields, you'll need to logon to Project Server as an administrator and
modify the timesheet view to reflect the added fields. Finally, you'll need
to republish your project to populate the data in the newly added fields.
