Configure Entourage as Word's email progr

This is so basic, I'm embarrassed to ask -- but as much as I've looked,
I can't find how to configure Word to use Entourage as its email
program. Nothing in Word Preferences or System Preferences seems to
apply. Help?

Using: OS X 10.3.8
Office 2004

Word uses the system default, which you can set in Mail's preferences

Have tried several times to use entourage as the default mail program but
not having any success.
Have set within apple mail that entourage is the default, restarted, but it
still does not work!!
Any other ideas?

have you closed Mail so that it writes the preferences to your HD?

Try resetting your disk permissions, using the Disk Utility application
in your Application:Utilities folder.
