Configure multiple approvers for tasks.

Here's the scenario:

Team members add actuals on tasks. When submitting tasks/report for
approval, I need the approval to go to multiple possible approvers (main
approver and/or backup approvers) at the same time, and when one of them
approves, it gets removed from the others... it is an either/or scenario,
where any one of the approvers can approve the posted time. This can happen
if one of the main approvers can not make it in the day of submission, or for
any other reason, one of the approvers is unable to approve.

I can't find anywhere any info on this, and I can't add multiple users in
the approver field (it only keeps the first name added).

This is a very common process, and I would be really surprised if it only
happens in our organization.

How do I achieve this?

Thanks

If you are using Project Server 2003, this is not possible. The best you
can do is to use Managed Time periods, have a Resource Manager approve
timesheets, and then the Project Manager approve the task updates into the
actual Microsoft Project plan.

If you are using Project Server 2007, you can have multiple approvers for
Timesheet submissions, the the approvers are in a chain where Approver #1
must approve, then it goes to Approver #2 who approves, and then to Approver
#3, etc. You cannot set up the system so that task updates go to multiple
Project Managers, any of whom can approve the updates. Project Server 2007,
like 2003, requires only one task update approver per assignment. Hope this
helps.
