Configure Office (Reconfigure Office?)

C

Craig Kunkel

After installing Office in our graphics department. It turns out that I
accidently used the same product key on two different machines. We
are on a network so we get this message saying that someone else is
using this serial number.

Tried taking Office off the computer, deleting the entire Office folder.
Then reinstalling. But the configure window does not reappear as it did
the first time I installed Office. So the same serial number is still on the
machine. Is there anyway I can make the Configuration window appear
to repersonalize and change the CD Key?

I am on OS 10.2.6

My email above is fake. I do not wish to post my email and become a
victim of junk email. Please reply to this post here. Thanks.

Either run Remove Office application from the Install CD's Value
Pack (which you should use instead of trashing the application
folder), or remove the serial number information by removing
these two files:

~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Microsoft Office Settings (10)
HD/Applications/Microsoft Office X/Office/OfficePID

Where ~ is your Home directory. The latter is a hidden file, so you
need to find it using the Find
command in the Finder. For OS 10.2.x:

In the Finder, choose File/Find (or type CMD-F)

Make sure your Applications folder is included in the search (one
way: choose Local Disks" in the Search In: dropdown)

Enter "OfficePID" in the filename contains textbox, then select
Visiblity from the Add criteria... dropdown. Select "off" for the
dropdown criterion, then click Search.
