configure outlook with comcast

I am on XP 2002 Service Pack 2, Outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625), Outlook
Express 6.00.2900.2180.

In the process of converting my email program from Oulook Express to
Outlook. I get an error message (no error number) that says "the operation
failed. An object cannot be found". This is for sending or receiving. When
configuring email on Outlook, using the test button, a test message was sent
by Microsoft, but received by Outlook Express ( old email program)

looks like an corrupt profile,
please create a new profile!

Andreas, I want to say Thank you for your help in solving my problem. It was
a corrupt file, now everything is working fine.

Can you tell me how I can change the display of the preview pane from
horizontal to vertical or vice versa?
