configuring 2007

We are preparing to migrate Project Server 2003 to 2007. I will have the
Project 2007 environment available prior to the migration weekend. Is it
advisable to establish security and sync with Active Directory prior to the
migration, or is it best to wait until afterwards? I know that some things
such as custom fields, views, etc. just make sense to wait until after the
migration. I was just wondering if I could improve efficiency of the actual
migration weekend by having done some of the work in advance.

Thanks, Ruth Halbach

You definitely should wait until after the migration. The migration
process will have difficulty creating the migrated user accounts if
there are similarly named accounts from the AD sync. I don't recall
what will happen, but I would not try to set up the users outside of
the migration utility.

Thanks for the advice - I will hold off until after the migration

No problem. Also, if you want to make the migration weekend less
painful, conduct a test migration before the real one. This may
uncover issues that will need some prep work or research.
