Configuring Outlook Profile freezes Win2k

We have been having problems when configuring the mail profile in Outlook
2003. On some Windows 2000 machines, the PC will freeze when we do "Check
Names" in the profile setup. This only happens on Windows 2000 machines. XP
machines work fine. all PC's are at SP4. Any ideas on what might be causing
this? Thanks in advance for suggestions.
