Configuring Page Size and text size?

I've looked back as far as I can, searched for Frontpage Tips on Sizing
Web Pages
but still have this basic problem of "How do I keep the information in
place when resizing
the page? Is that possible? Somehow they do it. I can look at other
web sites and the whole page
is brought in or out and everything stays in place. I don't know what
I'm missing other than
Web Writing 101. Where to turn.... Any help please.

Look at the source code of the pages to see how they do it ;-)

Many people use tables and cells to lay out their pages.

I don't if this is an accepted method, but when I do a new site (I use
dwt's) my template is usually given a light background, light grey usually,
then I create a centered table about 750 px wide and that table becomes the
useable page. That way when viewed on a monitor 800x600 or higher res, the
page looks identical, there's just a larger unused grey area on higher
resolutions. I'm not a pro by any means so I can't say if this is
recommended by the experts.

Thanks Dave, sounds good to me. I'm new, and when I started I found
that Frames worked
good, until I over used them. I appreciate your input and will work
with that and see what it does
for me.

I'm going to put out a new question: I want to keep minutes of board
meetings on the web site.
I'm not sure which format I should use and/or if this is a good data
base application. I can see a drop down list of dates so they can
select the one they want. Updating the web site would be a chore, I
guess.

Thanks again for sharing.

Simplest way would be to have a page for the minutes, and have links labeled
by date to a word or pdf document or something like that.
To give you an idea on the page design I'm using, here is a simple site I
did for a customer, no comments on the Christmas colors, that's what they
wanted! http://www.cabelohair.com/

I see.. Thanks. I can tell they like green. The inside of the place
is painted green.
Thanks for sharing.
