Confused about Layout Guides

Hi,

I understand the concept of the layout guides in that they define the
margins for the document but I am confused as to why the blue inner grid
guide is always a fixed distance from the pink outer margin guide, and why
is it there at all. Should I be lining up my text boxes with the outer or
inner guides?

The guides you define in Arrange > Layout Guides are the purple guides. If
you define those to be the physical margins of your printer, then you will
not want text boxes butting right up against them, so the blue guides help
you to keep your text boxes and other objects s certain distance away.

It doesn't really matter - they've been removed in Publisher 2003, as they
were confusing many users. Feel free to ignore them - all they are is
guides.
