Confused about what shapes to use

I am new to Visio and I am trying to do an algorithm. I would use a flowchart
template right? How do I know when I need a Process shape or a Decision
shape?? Can someone please give me some advice? Thank you.

Hi JK,

A decision shape is for any step that "has a question mark after it", or
requires some a branching of the pathways. If-one-condition, do this,
if-another-condition, do that. It's the "what next, if this?" shape.

A process shape can represent any single step that frankly isn't a decision.
It's the "Do something" shape.
