Confused by Project Sharing

Dave Howard

Hi

I've set up a project which features all my work events from Calendar.
I've shared this with my secretary by saving to a shared public folder on
her machine.

She has access to the diary that I put there...

BUT

How do I save any changes that I make so that she can see them?
How does she add or modify events for me so that I can see them?

I've been looking for the "synchronise" button. But I can't find it!!!!
Should it happen automatically? It doesn't seem to.
According to a schedule? I can't see where!
Heeeeelp!!!!!!!

Thanks
Dave

When you 'saved to a shared folder', did you do this with the 'share
project' button in the project overview, or with the 'save as web page' menu
item under the Entourage menu?

The first auto-updates (both ways, she can make changes that you will see as
well as the other way round). The second is a static snapshot that only
updates when you save a new version.

I did it with "share project" and sent her an invitation to subscribe, which
she accepted. The project is saved in the shared folder on her computer.

Am I right that the project doesn't update immediately? If I'm right how
long should it take to catch up?

And...apart from iDisk can anyone suggest a wevDAV server that I could use
if I can get used to this working locally?

Thanks
Dave

I am having the exact same problem. I created 3 different projects
from the project center for the calendar. I invited some staff members
to view the projects, they accepted and can see the calendar but now
when changes are made they are not shared even though the project says,
"shared". I was told for every item that is added to the calendar I
have to invite that person. THIS is not acceptable, too much wasted
time. There has to be a way. Has anything worked for you?

Thanks

Not true. The items should be synced to the other users.

The project calendar items will be shared without sending/accepting
invitation. Please make sure that everyone who subscribe the project does
the following.

1. Select the project and click "Overview" tab, click Properties button at
the bottom
2. Click on "Sharing" tab
3. Select ³Share it² in ³When I add a new item to this project² field

When you start sharing, please make sure you check the option ³Yes, share
current project items² in page 4 and ³Yes, share items added to this project
by default² in page 5 in Project sharing Assistant.

Thank you,
Keiko
