Confusion over laugages in Word X

B

beenie

MS Word X running on 10.3.7

I'd like to be able to swap between Eng, French, Dutch etc with ease.

I have all the laugauges installed.

If I open a document that was written in say 'Dutch' the spelling
check is still in English.

Even if I then change the Language into Dutch, the spell check is
STILL in english?

Its all a bit confusing.

So, how do I set up word so that I can easily switch between
languages.

Thanks.

If everything is installed correctly, you need to mark the text with the
language you want to use.

By default, Word sets its language from the Keyboard you are using. I don't
find that convenient, because I use only one keyboard.

I prefer to select the text I want and use Tools>Language to explicitly set
it to the language it is in.

I prefer to use styles for the purpose. I have a set of styles for each
language, and the language assigned as one of the properties of each style.

Hope this helps
