Confusion over what we need for full Project Server Setup.

Colin Macdonald

We're a small company running a 2003 Server network with Exchange, with
almost everyone on Outlook XP. Up until now we've just been using Standalone
versions of Project (albeit an old version now), but want to make the move
to the full fiunctionality of Server. However, different resources on the
web imply the need for purchasing different things, so can if we wanted the
ability to have up to 35 people viewing and updating a project schedule
through Web Access, but only maybe three or four people actually modifying
the schedule, what all would I need to purchase.... :

3-4 copies of Project Professional
1 copy MS Project Server 2003
35 licences for MS CAL / Web Access
Need to buy anything for Windows SharePoint Services?
Need to buy anything for MS Outlook project server add-in?

?

Thanks in advance if you can help, or even point me at something that
explains what separate things need to be bought for different purposes.

Colin:

You'll also need a license for SQL and the operations system(s) for your
server(s). Beyond that you seem to understand the licensing model. Remember
that Project Server usually ships with 5 CALs so that may reduce the number
you need purchase and your Project Pro users do not have to be separately
licensed for PWA.
