Hi All,

I've installed the MS Project server 2003 on a Win2003 server, Enterprise
Edition.

The Project server was installed successfully and i was able to access it
through the Project Web Access (PWA).

Then i configured the MS office project professional on my WinXP machine.

the configuration is correct as i checked it in the installation guide more
than 3 times. I tested the connections and it succeeded.

When i got the Project Server Security Login box, i entered the user name
and the password which i used to access the server using the web access, but
i received the following error:

"

Cannot connect.

Project was unable to establish a connection with the selected project
server. This could be caused by a loss of network connectivity, invalid user
name or password, lack of enterprise global template, or problems with the
Project Server, or database, or your project server may not have enterprise
features enabled. "

I'm sure that i've got a network connectivity, correct user name & password,
the Project Server, the database & the OLAP analysis services installed
correctly.

I'll be thankful for any help

Ahmed,

I met this problem too. My resolution was:

Maybe because of language difference between Windows2003 server and
ProjectServer (English) and my WindowsXP (Hungarian), the new entry to
windows registry resolved this problem.

"REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\MS Project\Codepages]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\MS Project\Codepages\1250]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\MS
Project\Codepages\1250\1252]"

Yout should put your codepage code to the appropiate place

I named the txt file to ProjectProID.reg. I installed it on client comps,
and all become fine.

I hope this help you a bit !

Ahmed:

Try upgrading MDAC on the workstation to 2.8. Is this happening on every
machine? What do you see in the server application event log?

Ahmad,

You should find the approperiate codepage for the language you want to use. 1250 is for Hungarian as Szabti said.

Thank you,
