Connecting to Ms Project Server 2003 with Ms Project Pro 2003

Hi,

I've a problem connecting to Ms Project Server 2003. I've done a single
computer installation, which includes SQL Server 2000 with SP4 and Ms
Sharepoint Services on the same computer.

I have a active directory on the same computer and a client on the same
domain. I can easily connect to Project Web Access (WA) with the client
using a given windows account, WA opens the account site directly.

But, when I try connecting with Ms Project Pro (this is the first time
connecting to Project Server) to the server, it logs in to the account
but, gives a error message as below:

"Cannot Connect

Microsoft Project was unable to establish a connection with the
selected Microsoft Project Server. This could be caused by a loss of
network connectivity, invalid username or password, lack of an
enterprise global template, problems with the Microsoft Project Server
or database, or your Microsoft Project Server may not have enterprise
features enabled. "

I tried changing the account details, it gives a different error
message (5001). According to these, I comment that there is no problem
with the account and logging in.

I tried to change sql server account details, and it gave a different
error message too. So, there is no problem with connecting to SQL
server.

I've made a check-list of possible errors mentioned in the error
message. I checked all of them, except the problems during the
installation process. It says, there is no enterprise global template.
During the installation, I may cancelled the installation of templates,
which I dont remember now.

Any ideas?

Best regards...

Hi,

For the first time I connect to Project Server with Project Pro, I use
project administrator account (that was created during Project installation).
Then create a user (my windows user) in Enterprise ressources. Next, i
connect under PWA with admin account and put my user account created in the
Enterprise Ressources into Admin group.
With this, i can connect to Project server with project pro and connect to
PWA.

Hope that help you.

Thanks for the advices,
The last one worked well for me.

Here is another problem, I have two types of connection to Prj Server.
First one is the windows authentication that domain users do. The other
one is local project users, that can not log on domain, but needs to
log in prj server. But, from a local user, I can not log on to server.
An error message " unexpected server response occured." displayes and
gives a view option which says:

"The server at 'http://project/projectserver' returned the following
error to Project.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the
credentials that you supplied. "
I create users with same login names in Prj server and client with same
passwords.

Any ideas?
