Connection error in Excel 2003 to AS 2005

Hi,
I'm using excel 2003 to connect to Alanysis services 2005 64bit SP1
connecting using the OLD DB driver for AS 9.0.

When setting up the dirver, once I have entered the server name, I can see
the database. When I click OK it defaults to the only cube in this database.
The cube is fully processed and can be browsed in 'SQL Server Management
studio' and 'Business Intelligence Development Studio'.

When I click 'finish' in the Pivotchart wizard i get this error message...
"Initialization of the data source failed. Check the database server or
contact your database administrator. Make sure the external database is
available, and then try the operation again. If you see this message again,
create a new data source to connect to the database."

I have recreated the datasource three times and the error remains.

I have membership to the 'Cube Admins' and 'Cube Users' roles and am also in
'SQLServer2005MSOLAPUser$ATLAS$MSSQLSERVER'.

I can connect using Proclarity with no issues.
I have googled this error and found others with the same problem but no
resolution.

Can anyone help?
