Connection Failed everytime I save

I am trying to configure a Project 2003 server with an Enterprise Project.
Everyime I save or open the project using 2003 professional on my laptop
etc.. I get the following error. If I change Localhost server to the project
server and enter in the right password it will go through. But every save
requires entering in the info three times. Any idea how to get around
this??? There has to be a way... I dont recall seeing a need to confgure a
DSN or anything

SQLState: '01000'
SQL Server Error: 52
[Microsoft][ODBC Sql Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (Connect())

SQL Server Error: 17
[Microsoft][ODBC Sql Server Driver][DBNETLIB] SQL Server does not exist or
access denied

I should clarify one point. After I get the error and click OK I get the SQL
Connection info box where I can select my project server and db etc...
