Connection Failure to Analysis Services server
I am getting an error message when I try to create a Data Analysis view. In
the Analysis Services Settings section, I cannot enter values for "Analysis
Services Database to be created" and "Cube". The drop down to the latter has
"Click to refresh database list", but doing so produces an error window which
states, "Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server. Verify the server
name and try again". The OLAP cube has been successfully built and I am
referencing the default analysis server. Any clues to why I may be getting
this error message
Using PS2007 SP1 with the July Infrastructure update
TIA

There are a number of client side requirements that must be complied
with in order to build and view cubes in PWA. These requirements are
discussed here
(
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197552.aspx) in the
section entitled "Requirements for building and viewing cubes in Project
Web Access"
The software to which Paul is referring is the "Microsoft SQL Server
2005 Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider", available here
(

There are also some additional requirements around how Internet Explorer
is configured. I strongly recommend that you read the first link
