Connection problems - Project Server 2003

Brian

I am having a problem, similar to one I read before,
regarding connecting to the Project Server, via Project
Pro 2002.

This is when I open Project Pro 2002, and it asks me to
connect or work offline. I select connect, to the account
designated to my Project Server 2003, so Ican publish,
etc., and I get the following error(s):

"There was a problem with the resource"

"Microsoft Project Server was unable to process the
specified enterprise resource"

After clicking "OK", I get the:

"Cannot Connect"

"Microsoft Project was unable to establish a connection
with the selected Microsoft Project Server. This could be
caused by a loss of network connectivity, invalid username
or password, lack of an enterprise global template,
problems with the Microsoft Projet Server or database, or
your Microsoft Project Server may not have enterprise
features enabled."

It worked yesterday, and I can still get to the server
through PWA.

1. I know I have network connectivity.
2. I know the username and password are valid.
3. I know enterprise features are turned on.

How would I check/restore and enterprise global template?

I am checking into Server/database problems, but I don't
think that will be it, I think it might have to do with
the enterprise global template.

Again, how can I check/restore this template?

Thank you in advance,
Brian

I had this problem! About a month I fight with it ...:) I try everything, but nothing helpâ€¦ïŠ BUT I FIND SOLUTION!!!…ïŠ
Regional Settings - I already read this, that it can help, but there was information to modify registry… But we can do it in easy way…
Just open Start -> Settings -> Contorl Panel -> Regional Setting, then choose tab Advanced and select English (Unated States), and put check box “Apply all settings to the current user account and to the default … †– after that computer ask you to be restart..:)

And the same you must do – not only on server, but also on client computersâ€¦ïŠ Only this way - how to do it is a little bit different in win2000. There isn’t tab Advanced, but you must look after tab General, and button “Set Defaultâ€â€¦

I think it will help to people how don’t live in United Statesâ€¦ïŠ and use different Regional Setting. But if you live there then sorry I don’t know the answerïŒ

And if you just install your server I don’t think, that Global Template is corrupted… But everything can happen …ïŠ

Good luck!

Sorry forget to teel, that it is solution when you get problem:

Project was unable to establish a connection with the selected project
server. This could be caused by a loss of network connectivity, invalid user
name or password, lack of enterprise global template, or problems with the
Project Server, or database, or your project server may not have enterprise
features enabled.

Sanita,
I have experienced this exact problem when connecting Project Pro 2002
clients to a Project Server 2003. I have tried the adjustment that you
recommend on both the server and clients - changing the language settings
from English (UK) to English (US).

Unfortunately, the problem persists for the Windows 2000 clients. I
have also discovered that the Windows XP users with Project Pro 2002 can gain
access effectively.

Can you tell me where you found this recommendation?

Have you noticed any relationship between this problem and the OS of
the client?

Thanks for your help,

Rob
