Connection to localhost

D

David Phillips

Hello,

Thanks for helping.

I have Windows XP home, and Outlook 2000 SR1
I setup an account for POP, IMAP, or SMTP. I set the name
of account, my name, my email address, set to connect
manually, incoming server is localhost, outgoing server is
local host.

It does not know where localhost is I guess, no conection
established. Tried 127.0.0.1, same thing. No traffic on
loopback interface.

Other mail clients work including Outlook Express.

Thanks,

David

pop3 is your incoming mail server, if your ISP is microsoft then it is
pop3.microsoft.com then your outgoing mail server will be smtp.microsoft.com
maybe the only reason your server is using 127.0.0.1 is because of your
Antivirus software
