Connectivity between infopath and SQL server database

Hi,
I have to create a form in share point site and connect it to SQL server
2005 database for data submission and retrieval.Do i have to create it in
infopath?Which form template to use for this purpose?
or can I create a list and connect it to database.
Basically I have to create a user interface on share point site ,through
which end user can submit data and this data has to be saved in database.

Please help.
