Connector lines all the same color - bahhhhhh

It seems all the lines on the same layer must be the same color [View Layer
Properties]. That lets me change ALL the connector colors.

I want to make some lines gray, some black.
How?

you can either put the different lines on different layers with associated
colors
select the line right click to get the context menu format => layer
or
select the line right click to get the context menu format => line
al
