connector tool in visio professional 2003

once i've selected the 'connector tool' i have to go into
print preview to turn it off. please tell me there's a
better way. clicking on teh icon doesn't do it, but there
must be some way of doing it without having to go into
print preview.

at least on my system, I move one icon over and select the pointer tool.

I was just using it all i do is select the pointer tool and it changes.

Sorry if the change caused confusion. In prior versions of Visio the
drawing tools would toggle on and off. Now they are on until you select
another tool such as the pointer. We just saw too many users
double-clicking the tools to use them, which meant that they were
deactivating them instead of activating them.

I just wish the Escape key would bring back the pointer tool if another tool
was currently active.

Personally, I'd like to switch back to the Pointer tool when the user bangs
on the keyboard or shakes their mouse violently.

Funny-- I was thinking how neat it would be if shaking your mouse tossed
grenades in all directions in Halo PC...
