Connectors vs Handles

Visio 2003 in Win XP.

Can you join the endpoint handles of a freeform curve, after it has been
drawn, so that the curve becomes a closed object?

I do not want to join the endpoints during the drawing, which works
occasionally but seems to require pinpoint accuracy upon ending the curve.

I selected both handles and tried operations/join many times. That does not
work. I have my glue settings on properly. They won't glue.

And why are shapes, drawing objects, connector points and handles so
confusing? Is there somewhere I can get a clear explanation on all of this?

Hi,

so you created a object with the freeform tool
what you afterwars to make it a closed objects is to draw a line from one
end to another
then you select the two and go to shape/operations/combine
now the two objects are combined to one object
if you want to color the object go to window/show shapesheet
and then in the geomerty.nofill cell you type 'false'
