Considering Infopath

I am currently considering purchasing InfoPath, to enable me to send out
questionnaires, work request forms or budgeting information within our
Company. I have two questions:

1. Does the end-user need to have InfoPath to fill the forms in and return
the data back to me?

2. Can data from multiple forms be gathered and analysed in, say Excel? If
so, how does this work - e.g. does it use tables to store the information.

I have never used or seen InfoPath, so my questions may seem quite silly.

Thank you in anticipation of your response.

Hello,

Welcome to Infopath World.

If you are going to use Infopath 2003 then Infopath is required to be
installed on Clients machine to fill out Infopath forms. But using downlevel
tool you can allow users to view the forms on the web browser. But wait
Infopath 2007 is coming up with a new feature Forms server where the user can
fill out the Infopath forms on a web browser. This is obtained without having
Infopath installed on users name.
You can download and try out the Trial version of Infopath 2007 on MSDN Site

There are simple labs on MSDN site which will allow you to get acquaint with
Infopath.

Also you can export Infopath data into Excel

I hope this will help you.
