consistency of "display as" and email lists

This is paricularly frustrating in light of the large number of
contacts in my folderhaving come from different data sources
(including MSFT CRM, various enterprises in my career, etc).

My challenge appears to be driven by lack of a standard by various
data enterers - many email addresses are displayed (and indexed) as

First Name Last Name
Last NAme, First Name
Alias@ Domain.com
etc
etc

I have used the free Sperry Software indexer to great results so now
all the contact cards are dispalyed consistently, however the email
list when I click "To:" is a mess - any input on how to resolve ?

I assume you are asking how to control the sort order of the Outlook Address
Book?
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
If they are "inconsistent" then the underlying fields on which the sort is
based were not created consistently.
