Consolidate Track Changes?

Is there a way in either v.X or 2004 to consolidate a set of changes
that have been made by various "authors" down to a single "author"?

I want to have the changes showing, but not the attribution to whom.

A guess that *might* work, and *might* suit your needs.

On a COPY of the document--go to Preferences | Security, and under
Privacy, check "remove personal information on Save." Then save the
document. I *think* that this should set all the changes to be made by
Author, with no name at all.

I might be wrong, though, I haven't tried it--it may set it to Author 1,
Author 2.

Another possibility, probably better, in fact--

Use Tools | Compare Documents to compare the edited version to the
original version (compare into a New document). I believe this will
mash all the changes into a single set.

Let the board know if either of these work--and someone else may come
along with the real answer.
