Constant attempts to install Office components

Every time I boot into Windows XP or start an Office XP program, the Windows
Installer launches and I get the following message: "Please wait while the
Windows installer configures Office XP." I am then prompted to insert my
Office XP installation CD. If I click Cancel, everything continues as if
normal--Windows finishes loading or the Office program loads and appears to
run normally. I am concerned that this could be the result of some sort of
malicious behavior (Trojan horse, etc) so I've been afraid to just put the CD
in and see what happens.

Has anyone else encountered this behavior?
