constantly accessing hard drive

Ever since I installed Office, something is constantly accessing my hard
drive. Doing a web search, I see that this was a problem for Office XP and
could be stopped by turning of "fast searching" but I can't find a similar
thing with Office 2007 (Home and Student).
My computer is in my bedroom, I usually leave it on when I sleep, but all
I hear when everything else is quiet is my hard drive now. Wasn't a problem
before the Office install.
Any ideas???

thanks

Have you tried pausing the Indexing service?

I think that's the same as the "fast searching" I mentioned above? I
can't find any option for that in Office 2007... ? I've had the XP indexing
option turned off ever since installing XP. I had the same hard drive issue
after installing XP, but I can't remember exactly what it was I did to stop
it, and I don't know if Office would have turned something back on or if it's
doing it's own thing, but I have double checked the indexing in the XP search
options and tried going through the list of Services to see what's running,
and I'm stumped.
After posting here, I also installed FileMon and ProcessMonitor from MS
sysinternals site, and all it shows is Explorer accessing each HD once every
minute, with a google search showing that the message it gives with this is
normal... but again, I didn't have the noise issue before installing Office,
so this isn't making sense.

thank you,
Nichole
