Constraint and deadline difference?

Can anyone tell me what is the differnce beween the effect of senting a constraint and setting a deadline date is?

Hi,

A constraint such as Finish no later than or must finish on can or will
influence the calculated dates.
A deadline will not, it will just show an indicator when teh finish date
exceeds the deadline

Yet for some reason, a deadline will affect the total slack calculation.
Thus it can make tasks "critical"

Yep - a deadline on a task effects the slack time calculations in the
project exactly as would a FNLT constraint of the same date on the task.
