constraints, how do i remove them?

Kim

I've built a "project" and when I put the dates (start & finish) it
makes a "constraint" or "hard date"....
I need the constraint to be removed. How do I do that, or is that
possible at all??
I went to the advanced tab and changed the constraint to 'as soon as
possible' and then it changes the start/finish dates to today's day.
I'm pulling my hair out! HELP!

Hi,

How is Project to know the start date you dream of?
Either you link tasks between them OR you constrain the task
No constraints, no links: Tasks start on Project Start date.
Hope this helps,

Hi Kim,

To expand a bit, you are advised against entering dates for that reason.
Enter tasks, durations and the predecessors (logic links), when Project will
do what it's designed for and that is to create a schedule for you. If you
enter dates, constraints will occur and you'll lose flexibility.

Thanks.)
