Hi, I am writing a modest size family chronicle for our children and
grandchildren. But the more I get into it the more complex it seems to get.
I thought writing text and adding some pictures was simple. However I am at
a wall right now, the thing becomes unwieldy.
I am stuck with the pictures which I thought to insert into the text via
hyperlinks by including a file of the pertinent pictures in a the same file
which I created for each chapter, but creating the proper link is made
difficult because the INSERT/Hyperlink function does not offer a list of
possible file locations.
What am I missing? Where could I find a crisp description of the best
procedure? I am using an iMac with OSX 10.5.6 and Word for Mac 2004
edition.
Would another Word processor for this project be more appropriate?
Any guidance please is appreciated.
Thank you!
Rudolf

Hello Rudolf,

Fortunately, it¹s simple!

Choose Insert menu => Picture => From File. A window headed ³Choose a
picture² appears.

See that tick-box ³Link to File² down on the left? That¹s what you need to
tick: the image will be linked, as you want. That¹s a very sensible way of
doing it.

Good luck with your ³modest sized family chronicle²! I¹m in the early stages
of one. They don¹t stay modest sized for long, though!

Cheers,
