Contact "activities"

I am brand new to Outlook (2003)

In using contact 'activities' section, no dates appear! So I end up
with an unsuitable list of calendar, tasks, etc.

I would have to open each one to find what I was looking for!

I've tried several times to 'add' a tool bar column, as you can in so
many other areas of Outlook w/out any luck.

Does some one know how to do this???

There is no meaningful date field that applies to all Outlook items. If you
add the Start date from the All App9ointment Fields list, it will be blank
for any tasks. You've already found the solution -- opening each item.
