contact and the "to"-line in an e-mail

i'm using outlook 2002 and i'm getting really frustrated now! when
want to type an e-mail address in the "to"-line of the e-mail, the nam
of someone appears. for example: when i type "mar", outlook will giv
some possibilities from which i can choose. like: "mark@..." an
"mark.jo@..." of just full names such as "mark johnson".

the problem is that these names/addresses appear to be people i'v
replyed to. these addresses must have been automatically saved and
just hate that. they don't appear in my contacts (imported from outloo
express when i started using outlook a month ago) but they do appear i
the "to"-line of the e-mail.

does anyone know how to stop outlook from autosaving thes
names/adresses?

thanx!!

Sure. Just turn off autocompletion ("Suggest names")--it uses a cache
created from sent messages. Use autoresolution instead ("Automatic name
checking")--it uses your Contacts data. You'll find both options in Tools >
Options > Preferences > E-mail options > Advanced Email options.
