contact folder not showing up in export window

I want to export a portion of my contacts to an excell file. I first copied
them to a new contacts folder. Then I went to file, import and export,
export to a file, microsoft excell, and then- I tried to find my newly
created folder to export from- and it's not there. I tried closing Outlook
and turning off my computer (and then on) but that didn't work.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
I'd appreciate it.

You should start the Import and Export routine from your newly created contacts
folder. You would then be asked to name the Excel file to be created.
