Hi,

can some one help me with this issue?

I have outlook 2007 setup on my laptop, whenever i am trying to double click
on any of the user name/contacts (who are part of my organisation) in my
outlook i am not able to get the information like "Organisation" or "member
of" information it is giving error: "unable to retrive the information" all
the other info like contact number are available.

When i check the connection to my exchange server by pressing ctrl and right
clicking on outlook in system tray, the directory is not connected but both
public folder and mail is in connected status. Infact the server name is
blank for directory.

If i configure my outlook in some other system its working fine.!!!!!!!

I have tried to repair my office with detect and repair option but that
doesnt helped me.

Plese help me in resolving this issue

Thanks in advance

Hello Amit
You are using the contacts in outlook in your office workgroup.
Amit actually it is not an issue with outlook but it is an issue with AD
(Active Directory) see the following link for workaround.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827749

Hope that you or your server administrator is able to resolve the issue.

Thanks and Regards

Hello Amit
No, Actually it`s a server issue and if it is a server issue it will only
not work fine on the system where the Directory Service for Glabal Address
List is either corrupt or unavailable, Usually this problem is solved when we
create a new user profile (Windows),

Hi Rahul,

I unable to create any New Outlook profile it gives the error "The action
cannot be completed . The connection to the microsoft exchange is
unavailable. The outlook must be online or connected to complete this
activity"

Can you let me know how to fix corrupted Directory Service for Glabal
Address List.

Thanks
Amit

Hello Amit
Actually we can receive the same error messages because of various issues
and it means that outlook is unable to connect to the exchange server the
steps that we can try and can happen is that outlook is in an offline mode
now how to bring it in an online mode.
Open Outlook>Click File and then Make sure work offline is unchecked,
If it is checked than it means that it is in an offline mode,
Now you also told that you have created a new profile so please check that
the account settings are correct or not with your network or server
administrator.
Now Some other posiible causes can also happen and to solve it you can use
the following links.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927481
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325930

There is one hotfix (Update) that Microsoft has launchhed for networking
issues Try installing it and see if it works or not.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912222
Hope that it will help you because there are many reasons for the issue to
happen.

Thanks and Regards

Rahul
