Contact List - Add Name/Build Distribution

When I click on the Contacts icon (Vista, version 6.0) in Outlook there is
no option to add a contact or build a distribution list. I seem to recall
that I could do this when I first got Vista and for some reason it
disappeared.
I see nothing that leads me to an Address Book even though I tried to follow
the directions given in some of the other postings in this forum. What I am
doing wrong or missing?

What contacts "icon"?
In Outlook you access your contacts by clicking on the Contacts "button" in
the navigation pane.

(Vista, version 6.0) in Outlook there is no option to add a contact or
build a distribution list.

You can do it via New-Contact or New-Distribution List from the main Outlook
window.
