Contact list wont keep updated information

I have an interesting situation here at work,
I have a user who is trying to update some email
addresses in her personal address book, but when she goes
to save the new email address it appears as though it
saves but when she goes to the properties of the contact
the old email address is still in there and the new email
address is no where to be found.

It might help if you mentioned the Outlook version and provided the exact
steps the user is following.
