contact manager constantly closing after 2007 enterprise upgrade

Contact manager is constantly closing after 2007 enterprise upgrade from
2003. When I open outlook I get the error message "business contact manager
has encountered a problem and needs to close" etc. I have the option to
restart BCM but if I do this the same thing happens again in an endless loop.
If Idon't and later reopen outlook sometimes it will work for a few minutes
but usually the only way to go through my emails is to ignore the message.
Also if I select the option to send the info to microsoft, after it is sent I
get a thank you message that includes an option to learn more about the
problem. It is a dead link that goes nowhere, it's very frustrating.
Can anyone help please?

Trevor, i feel you pain. Ever since i loaded BCM 2007 it crashed often.
Especially when i attempt for forward emails. I checked the database for
errors, but there are none. I have restarted BCM several times. I am
concerned about the stability for sure.

I don't know if this applies in your case, but BCM and Outlook version
must match; eg., BCM 2007 SP1 will only work with Outlook 2007 SP1.

Yes, i have both sp1 outlook and sp1 vista - the system does appear to be
more stable now after I turned off add-ins. Performance has improved. Go to
trust center and disable all the add-ins you dont use. It made outlook much
more responsive.

Rod, I'd be curious to know which add-ins made Outlook unstable. And
are you still using BCM?

Thanks, Chris [msft]

It did seem like once i installed office sp1 with vista sp1 helped.

But it seemed to slow considerably when i installed the add-in "MapiLab
email follow up" and "MapiLab add contacts."
