Contact notes are in greek character

I am using Outlook 2000 with ME. Recently I opened my
Contacts and all are displayed correctly except for the
fact that the note area for each contact is displayed in
Greek character. Everything else is fine and I can't
figure out how to change the character set back in the
note area. Help.
