contact page does not post the e-mail address in send

When I am sending or forwarding a message, my contact page does not post an
e-mail address, only the name of the receipent with a"<e-mail> after it. I
want the address to appear so I can send the message.
Secondly, how do I know the message is being sent? I see no "Message sent"
or a graphic line that it is being sent.
